“Australia 2008”: Congresso e ricerche!

I soci Beatrice Sambugar, Mauro Daccordi e Pier Mauro Giachino saranno in Australia per un periodo di 6 settimane a partire dal prossimo 16 settembre. Si uniranno alla nostra socia consigliere Giulia Perina, già impegnata da qualche settimana in ricerche naturalistiche in varie grotte australiane. Saranno tutti presenti al 19° International Congress of Subterranean Biology che si terrà dal 21 al 26 settembre a Fremantle (Perth, Western Australia), nel corso del quale presenteranno contributi anche a nome della WBA. Successivamente condurranno ricerche sulla biodiversità dell’Australia, terra che ha già visto in passato il loro impegno scientifico. Sono previste indagini sugli Oligocheti acquatici e sui Coleotteri Carabidi, Colevidi e Crisomelidi in numerosi Parchi Nazionali del Western Australia, Sud Australia, Northern Territory e Victoria.

Our members Beatrice Sambugar, Mauro Daccordi and Pier Mauro Giachino will be in Australia for a period of six weeks starting from next 16th september. They will join with our councillor member Giulia Perina, engaged since some weeks in naturalistic investigations in subterranean australian environments. All of them will be present to the 19th International Symposium of Subterranean Biology in Fremantle (Western Australia) from 21-26 september, during which they will present contributions under the name of the WBA too.

Afterwards they will devote themselves to investigating australian biodiversity, just studied in the past by our members. Investigations will be made on aquatic Oligochaeta and on Coleoptera Carabidae, Cholevidae and Crisomelidae in several National Parks of the Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory and Victoria.
