The Decalogue of Sustainability

Our values

In order to maintain high levels of biodiversity in the agrosystems it is necessart to use good agronomic practices that guarantee: the conservation of soil fertility, the correct management of water resources, the control of weeds, pests with low impact methods, the conservation of green hedges and uncultivated areas, the presence of nectariferous species and the use of crop rotations.

All these actions promote biodiversity in the area, while improving the quality of air, water and soil.

To comply with the standard the farm subscribes the “Biodiversity Friend Declaration” which it pures 10 actions considered by WBA as «Decalogue of Sustainability» in agriculture.

BIODIVERSITY INDICES

Life in the soil

Biomonitoring soil

The Soil Biodiversity Index (IBS-bf) is a method based on the analysis of soil macroinvertebrate communities; these are excellent bioindicators to assess the quality of soils. Among these are fundamental: earthworms, mites, isopods, millipedes, centipedes, springtails and insects.

Life in the water

Biomonitoring water

The Acquatic Biodiversity Index (IBA-bf) is a method based on the analysis of hydromorphology and acquatic macroinvertebrate communities; these are excellent bioindicators for assessing the quality of the surface fresh water.

Life in the air

Biomonitoring air

The Lichenic Biodiversity Index (IBL-bf) is a method based on the analysis of epiphytic lichen communities; these are excellent bioindicators of air quality.
