In 2005, WBA activated the Project Woodincity planting a wood of autochtonous arboreous and shrubby species near the locality Corte Molon, together with the Primary Schools G. Solinas and G. Uberti, inside the Adige North Park instituted by the Municipality of Verona. The mixed wood is a perfect example of use of the biospace: the foliages, placed on different floors, offer the best protection to the soil; the roots, exploring the ground at different levels, can make full use of soil fertility. Also the properties of the humus improve for the highest activity of the soil fauna. The high level of biodiversity is related also to the maximum resistance to adverse biotic and abiotic factors (insects, mushrooms, wind, aridity, ecc.).
In addition to requalification of the area, the Project engages the students in a natural laboratory and make them acquire a conservationist conscience through the analysis of the consequences of the environmental deterioration on the Planet.
The schools interested in joining the Project can contact the Association.
