According to the criteria of the Regulation, the trademark licensing of the brand “Biodiversity Friend” is granted by WBA to the organizations that obtained the certification “Biodiversity Friend” from the certifying body.
Use of the brand
The organization certified “Biodiversity Friend”, according to the rules of the Regulation, has the right to:
– advertise the obtained certification in the manner deemed appropriate,
– make public the Certificate of conformity,
– use in the documents related to products and services covered by certification, the logo “Biodiversity Friend”.
Other uses of the brand must be requested and authorized by WBA. The certified organizations can use the four-color original brand, according to the coded colors, or in black and white.
The organization certified “Biodiversity Friend” can use the brand “Biodiversity Friend” to communicate the possession of this certification on posters, banners, advertising material, publications and vatious documents, according to the criteria defined by the Regulation.
If the brand is used on labels of products intended for marketing or to direct consumption, the organization, for consumer protection, the following data must be reported on the logo “Biodiversity Friend”:
- name of the certifying body,
- certificate number,
- State and Province of origin of the product,
- expiration date of the certification,
- web site of the brand.
The brand “Biodiversity Friend” can be used on advertising material of the organization only if this material refers to activities covered by certification.
The organization can require the logo “Biodiversity Friend” of WBA by a request to be notified at:

Suspension or revocation of the certification
The organization to which the certification has been suspended or revoked can not use the brand “Biodiversity Friend” in any form and place. Malicious or fraudulent uses of the brand will be pursued by WBA as required by law.
