31 Oct WBA Biodiversity Indices at the Sustainable Sourcing Programme
Last week WBA Project was invited in Vevey (Switzerland) to participate to the 2023 Suppliers’ Meeting of the Sustainable Sourcing Programme (SSP) funded by Nestlé and managed by the Fundación Global Nature (FGN) and the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), with the aim of identifying actions for an agriculture more sustainable and attentive to biodiversity conservation.
The WBA Honorary President, Gianfranco Caoduro, presented to a hundred technicians and operators from different countries of the world a report entitled “Biodiversity Friend® Indices for assessing the quality of agrosystem environment – Monitoring the agricultural impacts on biodiversity” describing the innovative approach in using bioindicators for evaluating the impacts of agricultural practices on biodiversity. At the end of the presentation, after a short video on the field survey techniques of the Biodiversity Indices, a Q&A session followed during which the WBA vision on future farmers as custodians of the landscape and biodiversity.
