19 Sep WBA to the International Conference on Biodiversity in Colombo
The first International Conference on Biodiversity will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on the 5th and 6th November 2015; the Conference theme will be “Future of Biodiversity Conservation within the Sustainable development Goals”. Sri Lanka has been identified by Conservation International as one of 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world. Sri Lanka’s tropical rainforest ecosystem is considered as an area which is disturbed by human activity, but it is still exceptionally rich in endemic animal and plant species, in part even unknown. By identifying the importance of preserving the biodiversity of the world, the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) pleased organized the First Annual International Conference on Biodiversity which will bring together leading academics, scientist and researchers coming from all over the world. The conferences will be of interest to both researchers and policy makers working on issues broadly in the area of biodiversity.
The Conference, supported by the Department Biological Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and by the World Biodiversity Association, will be attended by the President of our Association, Paolo Fontana, which will be the keynote speaker. The WBA members interested in participating to the Conference can have preferential treatment.
