02 Oct 25th october 2011: Eleventh Biodiversity Day!
In the context of the “Biodiversity Project”, the World Biodiversity Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Vicenza and the Museo Naturalistico Archeologico of Vicenza, organize on Thursday 25 October 2011 the “Eleventh Biodiversity Day” to the Conference Room of the Museum, in Contrà S. Corona 4. It is an event directed to the School world to deal with the thematics related to the conservation of biodiversity, for a sustainable development of our planet.
PROGRAMME OF THE DAY
9:00 – Opening of the conference and welcome of the authorities.
9:20 – Introductory speech by prof. Giovanni Onore (in the photo), President of the Fundacion Otonga, about the biodiversity of Ecuador and presentation of the activities for the conservation of the Otonga Forest.
10:00 – Showing of the film “Animales que cantan y encantan” by Fundacion Otonga.
11:40 – Pause.
11:00 – Report of the Chairman of the World Biodiversity Association Gianfranco Caoduro: “2011, International Year of Forests: to save forests to preserve biodiversity”.
Ore 11.30 – Report of Dr. Silvano Biondi about Abbot Disconzi and Paolo Lioy, famous naturalists of Vicenza in the 19th century.
Ore 12.00 – Student’s interventions.
12:15 – Donation ceremony to Prof. Giovanni Onore of the funds raised by the Institutes involved in Biodiversity Project during the school year 2010-2011 to buy some hectares of the Otonga Foresta (Ecuador).
12:30 – End of the conference.
